Question Which window regulator pivot pin?

My SC's driver's-side power window regulator is lacking its pivot pin. I need one with the slotted end perpendicular to the opposite end, but I've done a search that seems to suggest the ones that Wayne sells here are too long (i.e., 23-26mm; they are meant for manual window regulators). Is this true? If so, is there a source for one that will fit my regulator? If not, any McGyver fixes out there? Seems silly to trash an otherwise fine regulator!

Didn’t know they came in different lengths.
I made one out of an old bolt. Use one that’s not threaded all the way to the head (don‘t recall the size ½“ maybe), grind a slot in it for the spring. Round the head off , cut to length (leave enough to peen over)
Grind the end you will peen over to fit in the slot of the regulator (note the orientation) .

Why do you think the sizes won't work for you? Post a picture of the broken one and maybe we can figure out what is going on.

If you want to make one yourself, check this thread: $3.51 Widow Regulator Pivot Pin

Just based on a search of these forums before posting. My pivot pin is totally missing; nowhere to be found within the door.

How do you know which one you need if you do not have it? A particular type is not associated with a particular model or year of car. It may still be attached to the regulator so when you pull it out, you still have a chance of finding it.

Nope, I pulled the regulator already--that's how I know I need a perpendicular rather than a parallel slotted pivot pin. Trust me, I looked for the pin before posting! Thanks for the McGyver fixes--nice to know I can solve my problem one way or another--but I'd still appreciate hearing whether either of the Weltmeister pins (23mm or 26mm) can be used with electric window regulators.

I have manual windows so I cannot say for sure but I believe that one of the 2 pins witht he correct slot orientation will work for you.

Also, typically both sides of a given car are same. Have you checked the other side to see what type/size it has?

Not yet; thought I'd try the question here before taking my passenger door apart....

It has been a while since my door card was removed, but I think you may be able to remove the door card and roll the window to a position where you can measure the other pivot pin without removing the regulator.

Why not just measure the distance on the removed regulator.
The difference in length appears to be (from the pelican parts pictures) on the part that goes thru the regulator. The part that the spring goes thru looks the same.

Doh! Now that's a great idea!

EDIT: FYI, I ended up fixing the regulator by using a T-nut and a bolt and some J.B. Weld. Total cost: $0.42!
