Why to not ship UPS (enjoy)

Saw this the other day & I had to laugh & take a few pics. Especially with my recent experience with UPS.
I do feel bad for anyone who had a package in there.

That's probably one of the reasons why they charge us so much in brokerage and handling fees ... lol

I'm sure accidents happen all the time, but let's think about this for a minute.

UPS knows exactly the number of boxes in the van, who they were sent from and to whom they were to be delivered. Right down to the last box delivered.

They can immediately contact the senders and many of the receivers about the destruction. Their insurance can make the loss right and a replacement product in many cases can be on the way in short order.

Same for FEDEX as above.

Can you say the same for the USPS? Probably not.........

Just my .02 worth...

I can cite several experiences with UPS that would indicate that this isn't necessarily the case. YMMV

This has nothing to do with UPS but, I sent a dash to Arizona last week via Fed ex it was packaged in a long cardboard box when the dash arrived the box was crushed and the entire end was broken off the l/s of the dash. $40.00 to ship.
Tuesday I shipped a box packaged not perfectly ( my fault) with headlight's and other parts to a fellow Pelican. The light's were smashed and unusable had to refund the $. USPS Priority $22.00 shipping. The moral of the story is you have to package everything with extra padding and care.

The main reason why UPS is the only one I trust to touch my goods.

Ups

UPS stands for "UNITED PROBLEM SERVICE"

If UPS and Fedex would merge they could call it "FED-UP"

BA-HA-HA-HA! Have you ever actually filed a claim with UPS? I have. "esample" has it right. These SOBs will go to extreme lengths to deny the crazy stuff their gorillas do.

Oh, yeah - more pics of the hot UPS chicks, please...

I'm in the VW aircoold parts biz, and we switched to FEDEX because of all the damage claims and the nightmare of UPS denying claims right off the bat, I don't know how many times I called my rep in to get them overturned. With FEDEX we have very few claims now. USPS, try making a claim with a government run facility!

+1 to the point I have said not to ship w/ them....especially if valuable.

My feeling if they are willing to load it from my locations they should be responsible. They have used the poorly packed excuse more than once....

I was the manager at Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories way back in the 80s to early 90s. We sold lots of very expensive automotive parts and goodies. There was a retail showroom on Robertson Bl and from our catalog we would ship around 800 packages every day via UPS.
About a week before Christmas the fourth UPS truck finished loading the last of our packages. There wasn't room for one more package, filled to the top. I locked up the loading dock, went out the front door, turned on the alarm, turned around to see the same UPS truck going down Robertson Bl with the back door wide open. Packages, large and small were flying out the back onto Robertson. Cars were swerving around the packages. Some cars stopped and were picking up boxes and throwing them in there car. The UPS truck just kept going. All I could do was stand there with my jaw dropped in disbelief.
Needless to say it was a nightmare for the next few weeks trying to figure things out. Irate customers that did not receive their Christmas orders, UPS denying anything had happened, on and on!
We contacted FedEx, after telling the rep this story, they offered air shipping for the price of UPS ground.

I had 6 aircraft cylinders sent by UPS, I got 5, when the 6th one arrived it had cracked and broken fins on it. After two weeks of being run around I finally got the manufacture to step in and put pressure on UPS to make good the claim. "Big Brown" in my opinion has done a big brown out... Because of their carelessness I missed a National Fly-in Convention, the only consolation was that I received the "Hard Luck" award.
