OEM RS Duck Tail/What's It Worth?

I'am considering the sale of this original factory duck tail. It came with my new found 67 911 project. I plan to run the original engine lid. The top of the duck tail is fiberglass and the frame is solid metal. It is an authenic OEM duck tail. How much are these worth these days???? Thank you advance for your imput.

Is it magnetic? As Noah said, based onwhat that magnet does it will change the value substantially. Depends on condition also. Post some detailed photos, especially of the under side of the spoiler and we can give you a better idea what it is worth. Value is based somewhat on the year also. If it is a '73 part than it is likely to be more valuable.

That is an interesting one, thanks for the heads up. It looks to be for a '74 Carrera. Also I have not seen a Ducktail with a wiper assembly before. I am not sure if that is factory done or not. I wish the photos were more detailed and larger.

Hi Martin,

Yeah I followed the auction to the end. If it is in reasonable shape that is a very good price, especially for a rare wiper option.

Noah,

IMO, the fragile nature of the aluminum frame spoilers have made them somewhat rare. Most of the original ones didn't hold up well especially the latch brace area.

Hi guys, the information you have put out is good news! My ducktail is aluminum. I want to clean it up and leave it ready for paint before I sale. The tail is for a 73.

Reproductions are up there too.
Aase sells an aluminum frame one for right at $1900.

To me a real one should be more costly....

I think the numbers you're seeing here are way too low. An alloy frame factory ducktail is easily a $5-6K item, IMO.

A regular aluminum longhood decklid (oem, unused) sold on the parts forum recently for ~$4500, with some posters talking $8000 for original aluminum ducktail
