Introducing...Me

Hello! I very recently purchased an 88 Targa and just took delivery of it a little over a week ago. Well, the weather was finally nice hear near Charlotte for me to take my wife out for her first drive.

I am new to 911 ownership and this Forum, but I suspect this car may not be a stranger here. The previous owner took very good care of her and I am doing the same while she is under my care. I have wanted a 911 of this era since I drooled over it when I was a teen. This is truly a personal high for me.

Here are a few pictures I took today, it was 65 degrees in the Charlotte NC Area and just a beautiful day for cruising and pictures!

We stopped at a boat ramp on Lake Wylie SC side:

And some others nearby:

Thanks for sharing in my joy.

Cheers!

-Dana

Cool tip? Add a chin spoiler to avoid "porpoising" (oscillations) at speed.

Besides,,, chicks dig 'em.

Great car and photos... Thanks for posting.
I hope you have many years of enjoyable motoring.

I don't mean to be negative but...

You need to consider getting a rubber lip spoiler for your front valance or remove the rear one.
To get the best from your car you should be running both front and rear spoiler or none at all.

Right, I already have planned the front lip spoiler. I was browsing through my copy of 101 Projects for your 911 and decided that was a worthwhile and easy addition. Thanks for the advice.

I've never been a big fan of the Targa's - until I saw these pics!

That's a really nice combination (ie. wheels with selected polishing, turbo spoiler, colour/color and condition).

Adding the chin spoiler is a good idea.

Makes me feel like going for a spin when I get home from work!

Regardless of body flex, leaking, etc. I think the Targa is a better looking car than the coupe by far. The wrap around back window of the Targa is one of the greatest pieces of styling on any car, in any era. The coupe is too plain. Too VW Beetle streched to 16:9.
