Porsche Crest Fuchs wheel question

I have a question concerning Fuchs wheels and am seeking some experienced advice. I am considering buying a set of 8x16 wheel to use on the rear wheels. My question is can you use Fuchs wheels (7x16) up front and use Euromeister Fuchs on the rear? Does having heavier wheels in back make a difference? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Should not be any problem doing that. Not going to be a huge difference in weight. Only thing that you might notice is they may not look exactly the same between the Fuchs and the Euromeister wheel. I put the Rota 17" on and did not notice the weight difference as I was expecting to.

At the very limit, on the track, you might lock the front tires sooner than you would with heavy wheels all around due to the lesser inertia/angular momentum. That and your rears might fall off.

With the rear weight bias & larger tires in the rear of a 911 (more stress on the rear wheels?), I would think it is more important to have strong wheels (i.e., Fuchs) in the rear than the front. I considered replicas but ultimately decided to go with genuine Fuchs. In fact, I am having genuine Fuchs 7s & 8s refinished right now at Weidman's.

I have heard the concerns about the age of Fuchs wheels, but that is one of the reasons I sent the ones I bought to Weidman's -- I know they will make sure the wheels are okay before I put them on my car.

Skimping on wheels to save $ is like trying to find the cheapest helmet.

My 2 cents...FWIW.

Thanks for the advice. I would like to find some Fuchs 8x16 but they are hard to find and when they are listed they go very quick.
Thanks again,

They are out there. When I bought mine a couple weeks ago (happened to find them locally through a Pelican ad), I was also about to bid on a pair on ebay, & I found another set through Pelican that I was considering. In other words, a few weeks ago I could have purchased from 3 different sources.

I also found some at Sierra Madre in CA, but I didn't know anything about the company, so I was reluctant to buy from them. Finally, the refinishers often have them. Try Weidman's, Wheel Enhancement & maybe Al Reed. I also tried to talk with Ernie's Alloys, but I could never get them to answer the phone after work or on weekends.

They are out there!

I DO buy the cheapest safety equipment generally, namely my bike helmet. (Walked into the store and asked for the cheapest one that fits. Actually, I only got a helmet at all after cracking my skull in a crash.) But I would not skimp on wheels which are for both performance and safety.
