strange starter/ignition issue

I have recent like in an attempt to do the steering wheel lock delete had many of the plugs under the dash and into the back of the keyed ignition switch disconnected. i drilled the wheel lock stud and pinned it back with a set screw. the key was a bit harder to turn but nothing that could not be lived with. upon reattaching all of the under dash plugs associated with the ignition switch now the car worn turn over. if i turn the key to the accessory position i get the alternator & oil pressure lights in the gage to illuminate, the fuel pump will run but as soon as i turn the key to the starter position all lights go dead and the fuel pump stops. all goes dead like the key is in the off position. I have checked all the fuses and they remain sound, moved some relays around, getting a full 12v at the battery, & even removed the set screw so the wheel lock was operational again to no avail. There were a few wire splices where the old alarm was taken out and i re-did those thinking i might have dislodged something and still nothing. no voltage at the coil when in the keyed accessory position. wiring is far from my strong suit......

Any ideas or insight? of course this occurs just after i signed up for a track day this fridee

tia
