Okay, I'm baffled...not that it takes something incredible to baffle me, but...
About one month ago I replaced all the plugs, distributor cables & had one of the injectors replaced. The car was running great and starting on the first turn of the ignition. Two weeks ago I replaced the flappers, cables, etc. to bring the defroster back on-line. Now the car won't start until the 5th or 6th attempt. Are these events related? Or is the juxtaposition of maintenance throwing me off track and this "new" issue is totally unrelated to my previous medlings. Any comments welcome... Jim 1978 911SC Targa |

perhaps you knocked the yellow/blue wire off the starter solenoid that works the cold start valve.

I'll check this at lunch. I hope you're right and it's something as simple as that! Thanks for the lead!

John,
It was the wire from the temperature regulator to the cold start valve that was unconnected. Easy to see, hard to get to...but not as hard as the cold start valve! Could that be further in back of the engine and in a more difficult place to reach?!? Thanks for the tip! Jim |
