shifting and turbo questions

Two questions:

1. When I am at sea, my girlfriend starts and drives my car, to the store etc. She never gets on the boost during these "excersise" drives. When I get home and do get on the boost, it seems to stumble and sputter for the first couple of times. It seems to run seamlessly after a few spirited runs on the boost. Can anyone tell me why this is? Am I doing damage letting it sit? Is there a way to prevent this other than telling my girlfriend to drive it harder? (scary thought, that).

2. When driving "hard" through the gears, sometimes going from second to third, it will "pop" out of second while I am in the process of shifting. Is this just a matter of being impatient while shifting? Or is it a precurser of trouble to come. It doesn't pop out of gear at any other time.

Thanks for your imput
