Engine Code

I am going to sell my distributer off my 3.0, I'm going to a coil on plug setup. I want to make sure that I have the year correct on my engine when I advertise on here. I was told the engine came out of 1980, but the last time I ran the numbers, it coded and 82. The numbers on the plate that is by the fan reads 6400097 and the number by the chain case cover says 930/07. Can someone tell me what year this engine is? Thanks.

should be an '80 - check out Porsche 911 Baujahre 1964 bis 1989

edit: if it was 64C000.... that would code out as an '82

+1 on Josh's post. Checks out as 1980 by engine# and type#

Try clicking on the "FZ-Ident." tab. Then when the page comes up, click on the year range in the bright green box on the left. What appears is in German, but easily understood due to the similarity in words.
