Shifting/clutch issue

Hello. When driving my car today in 2nd gear (rpms around 4200) I pressed the clutch in to shift into 3rd and the rpms actually jumped up as if I was still accelerating. It happened once last week as well but only in 2nd gear and not every time. Just wondering what it might be. The clutch only has about 14000 miles on it. Thanks in advance for your help.

i'm going to guess it is an 84 carrera based on the sig. i had a similar problem and it turned out to be that one of the springs for the throttle return was missing and the other one was badly stretched. replaced them both and everything was good.

Hello. Sorry, yes the question is regarding my 84 Carrera. I will check out the throttle springs. I hope that's the problem. Thanks again for the input.
