Another alignment question
Need some insight on this, please.
While working under the front end of my 73.5 T trying to find a cure for a slight pull to the left, I noticed that the left tie rod was adjusted all the way "in" and the right tie rod adjusted quite a distance "out" as evidenced by the number of threads showing. I checked the steering wheel, and it is aligned correctly with the mark on the shaft and is straight when driving. I assumed that if all was correct, the tie rods would be adjusted the same approximate length. The car, as far as I know, has never had front damage and shows no evidence of it. Can someone offer an explanation for this? Am I correct on my assumption of relatively equal tie rods? Will other adjustments to the suspension--camber, for example--account for this? ![]()

Count the number of turns lock to lock then turn back 1/2 way.
Is the steering wheel still straight? I'm guessing the rod ends were adjusted to straighten the st. wheel.

Yep, did just that early on and the wheel is straight. It just doesn't seem right that there is no more adjustment possible in the left tie rod--that's my concern.

There are a few things that can cause the tie rod lengths to vary on each side. (Cross-camber, as you surmised, being one variable.) But your car sounds like the difference is extreme. If it was me, I'd have a shop check the alignment. Once you have all the readings you can decide if it's possible something is tweaked.
