Loose Steering Column?
I just installed the "Steering Wheel Repair Sleeve" (part #: 928-347-739-02-M737) from our host and have to say how easy the effort was.
Follow manual to remove steering wheel. Recommend you disconnect battery before doing so. The photo below shows the disintegrated bushing (Red Arrows) Before sliding on sleeve, remove C-clip (Green Arrow) I lubed the sleeve with a little silicone grease to ease it into place. If you have a 1" pipe to slide onto the column, this will aid in hitting the sleeve collar evenly. I lightly tapped the pipe with a hammer to slide the sleeve in. Shouldn't take very much force. Tap until it seats and you're done. Reinstall C-clip, reinstall steering wheel...don't forget horn hookup. For $9.75 plus shipping, it was the easiest and cheapest repair I've ever done on a Porsche. ![]() ![]()

Alternative Product...
Pelican Parts also carries a MDS (Self Lubricating) Nylon Support Bushing - P/N PEL-ML-STR for $29.00. This bushing is easily installed and more over is easily removed. In some cases the metal bushing cannot be removed. Also with the Nylon bushing you have a high quality bearing material as opposed to a metal to metal contact. And best of all, it works silently...
Here's some testimonials on the Nylon Bushing with some pictures for those that might be considering an upgrade. Mitch Leland's Steering Wheel Bushing - Pelican Parts Technical BBS OK, maybe I'm a little prejudice since I designed the bushing and sell it to Pelican Parts, but it does work a lot better and will probably out last the competition100 times over.
