68 912 spots to check for rust?
going to take a look at a 68 912 this weekend and would like to know the usual spots to check for rust. the car has 58k and has only been driven 200 miles in the last 11 years per the ad, and none in the last 5 years, so i know it will need some lovin under the hood. i am hot worried about that, however i am not one to tackle rust and will be checking everything i can as best i can.
thanks.

Everywhere? Seriously, no galvanized used so everywhere is susceptible. Some primary areas: front pan, door bottoms, light buckets, rear corner of front fender openings, sill/lockpost junction, rear light sockets, leading edge of hood, same on engine lid.
Good luck! Ps... Floor pans too, duh. |

Seriously, there aren't spots on a non-galvanized 911 not to check! On my '68, I found the lower 3 inches of the tub to be completely compromised. Look really carefully at the rear torsion bar tube and the rails past it in the rear of the car. Expensive to get right.
