72T Start Problem
I drove my car today for about an hour.
Got back in the car and turned the key. I heard the fuel pump but no other sound. I didn't hear the click of the solenoid on the starter. I figured it was either the solenoid or not enough power to the solenoid- Or maybe then I would have heard it click. I climbed under the car and hit the starter a few times with the end of a screwdriver. I then started the car. I assume i have a bad solenoid/starter. Or possibly a loose connection. I did check all connections and could not find any issue. I'm a little surprised it's the starter since I just replaced it a year ago with a rebuilt Bosch unit from the host. Any ideas? |

Ground strap nice and tight?
No click noise is either: 1) a bad solenoid 2) no power to solenoid How is the ignition switch feeling when you turn it to the starter run position? These get worn out after 40 years of service and don't always engage. |
