Its black plastic. You could always paint it

I am almost certain it is metal as I have tried to remove it - are you sure?

They are made out of pot metal, and break very easy.

i havent removed mine either but just to be safe I checked it with a small magnet. Didn´t stick and it sure feels like plastic. Mine´ an 87 model so I don´t know if the earlier ones had metal but I don´t think so

[QUOTE=don gilbert;5305898]They are made out of pot metal, and break very easy.

Painting it would probably be the more sensible option then

Good idea; in remembrance of their President being killed in a plane crash.

Pretty sure they are metal.

No, you're right, they are both spelled the same, polish. Just thought is was funny that it was capitalized.

I try not to be too much of a spelling fanatic, even though I did time in Catholic schools.

Polished Targa Script

Did the script on my 83SC about 4 years ago - took a pic tonight to show:

Mine started out painted flat black. I started sanding with ~ 220 grit and brought it down to ~2,000. From there I went to a buffing wheel and compound.

The surface has dulled slightly over the years - I'm sure I could bring it back to full luster with some rubbing compound, just haven't had the ambition to get out the toothbrush to clean the excess aftermath.

I like the look and it was a pretty easy project.

Best of luck,

Gordo

I like mine the original black, matching the bar.

In fact, on my current car, I painted the 'targa' black, it was silver.
