To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a single comprehensive source for "Option Group" code deciphering. This is unfortunate, as Porsche M-codes and Porsche Exclusiv option codes are readily available from numerous sources. I had to resort to a Porsche build sheet check--which is hit or miss--to confirm that Option Group R64, which is on my '83 SC, comprised the following:
395 = Fuchs alloy wheels 6JX15 front & 7JX16 rear w/ Pirellis 454 = Cruise control 474 = Bilstein sports dampers 566 = White foglights BTW, I'm not certain that option group codes remained consistent year-to-year, but that's what it meant in 1983, at least for my US-market SC.* The above options were in addition to other options found on the car (e.g., sunroof, etc.). In your case, it is possible to to use the COA to deconstruct the contents of F26, but it will require having an accurate understanding of standard vs. optional equipment differences between '79 & '80 SCs and knowledge that your car, as-is, is essentially stock. Basically, anything on the car (minus the COA option codes) that wasn't standard for 1980 is probably part of F26. * After corresponding with Adrian Streather on the matter, it seems like cataloging all the SC-era "option group" codes will be practically impossible given incredible idiosyncrasies when originally assigned as well as contemporary EU data-restriction laws. Option group code terminology became more standardized starting with the 964, however.

Code F26
John,
Thanks for taking time to answer! It seems murky at best, anyone else looked into these early 80's codes? Marvin |

I think it's safe to say that a definitive, comprehensive catalog of option group codes for pre-964 Porsches isn't going to happen, at least without direct access to Porsche archives. After all, if it were reasonably feasible, I'm sure Adrian would have included them in his code-breaking book! The main problem is that Porsche used (and reused) a small number of option group codes to designate many different sets of options for different markets for different years. So, a R64 option package in the US in a given year will be comprised of one set of options, but R64 for a different market in the same year will designate something else, and a R64 code the next year may very well be something else for each market, and so on, and so on, and so on.... Best we can do is have people who know their option group contents (like the '83 US-market R64 group listed above in post 2) to post them and those with partial lists to discuss and reach consensus.
