Forum is still sloooow loading.

Still slow loading on my laptop at home since the Pelican server was relocated Not all the time, but it will hang for 10-30 sec + at least a few times a session or more.

I don't go online much at work, but it loads slow there as well.

Anyone else still having this problem, or is it possible that it is related to an anti virus/spyware/firewall issue with my computers?

Thanks Wayne for having this forum and the continual upgrades that you perform here.

I have the same experience.
This is new since the server change.

If I post, it occasionally takes more than a minute. I may have walked away from the computer and find returned to the ‘Quick Reply’ screen as if I hadn’t posted. I’ll click ‘Post Quick Reply’ again and end up double-posting with the attendant having to ‘Delete’ one post. Pita

This is not restricted to posting. The same happens refreshing the main Forum screen and opening or paging a thread.

The problem is inconsistent.

It does not appear time-of-day related.

I can watch my internet connection and it is a delay in Pelican server responding.

I have 5 meg DSL, XP, MS Explorer.

I have re-booted, searched for any viruses, pop-ups, etc.

I have even resorted to only having my com program, virus set low and only Pelican Forum open. To no avail.

My connection with Early S is now lightning speed by comparison.

Amazon dot com searches in milliseconds and ‘One Click’ still operates in fermitoseconds - nat.

Best,
Grady

Ditto on the page loads - also have minor issue with the posts.
could be my side but can't tell- usually get some "token" error so it'll take 2 attempts but to be fair I started seeing this just before the announced move and sometime after I changed to AVIRA.

Same here--Grady, you described my experiences perfectly. Things were fine for a couple of days awhile back, but have deteriorated radically--to the point of just logging on becomes frustrating. Again, the problem is inconsistent and doesn't correspond to time of day or day of week.

Wayne, you know we all appreciate this forum and please understand these posts are for your information to help solve the problem. We'd probably all still use it if posts were handled by the Pony Express

Same problems as everyone else. . . Overall I'm spending less time on this forum, because of the frustration. So, maybe it's a good thing - I'll get some actual work done.

No problems here. You need to check your internet filter and tighten your output mounting nuts.

I get a a lot of waiting on pelican parts, transferring from PP, slow to load pages, etc.
Sometimes no problem at all and then slow for awhile

Yeah, kind of inconsistent.

I'm finding I now am prioritizing which posts I want to read and checking them out first in case I get frustrated with waits and leave.

Then sometimes things are rather quick but then arbitrarily b a c k t o s l o w .
