hershey, the aftermath
wow, what a great time. it was absolutely amazing to see so many porsches in one spot. i tried my best to go up and down every row to look at them all but i just could not make it. the concours had some really amazing cars and i over heard one guy talking about the 4 original RS cars he has... i can only imagine. met a few pelicans and bought a few things i needed and even more i did not.
unobtanium - thanks for the grab bag. i know what a pain it is to make up variety-type packages and i appreciate the effort. mine contained an interior carpet brush, a 911 gti-98 hotwheels car, some stickers, a boxter post card, a panorama, a 356 registry and some stickers. again, thanks. rennline (tom) - great guy and one hell of a setup. i was really blow away by the vast line of products and their extremely high quality. i picked up a set of pedals (with dead), a jack pad and one of their t-shirts (FUCH YOU!). i can see myself buying more in the future even without the show discount! took way too many pictures but here are a few for everyone to enjoy. this was the porsche only lot at 7am when i arrived ![]() same lot at 10am ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

funny you should mention that. there was a ROW 911 (i forget the year, late 70s to mid 80s i think) in the exact same color in the "for sale" corral. according to the paper on the windshield it was 1 of 2 in the US. i swear i took a pic of that too but i can't find it anywhere. if you look in the upper left hand corner of that pic you can see the decklid open on it.

i checked that out as well. i believe that company builds all sorts of replicas and their work looked pretty good. they did waste a lot of dynamat though in their 100% coverage application.

I lived in DC for 8 years and went to Hershey every year. It rained every year. I've been back in San Diego since 2003 and every picture I've seen since has sun and nice weather. I'm beginning to feel like it's me. . .

Best Hershey show in a couple of years. Weather was great, actually needed suntan lotion, mid 60's and lots of great Porsche parts. Amazing the number of 356 stuff/parts/junk at this show. Also lots of people just trying to get rid of good used parts plus the many vendors. I bought a gas tank for a 70T for $75, not bad. There were at least 4 choices for the tanks ranging from $50-$250. Again, great show and one of the best in the last 5-6 year. Steve

Cool pics NineBall! I was out there as well although I got there a bit about lunch time, but I did not drove my Targa as planned this time, since my son could not come up from Norfolk. He is been getting a lot of duty lately! Anyways the place was packed with awesome cars! Hopefully next year I'll drive over in mine! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I drove up with the black RS. It is a real RS, one of a hundred RHDs produced. The really cool thing is that Nick drives the car as it is meant to be driven. What an intoxicating sound when driven with intent........ The other interesting aspect was how wide the 215s looked on the 15x8s....

I am so glad to see so many pictures. I am in Southern NJ and couldn't come up until late. I was meeting my friend there and he called saying the cars are packing up (as I was 30 minutes away)... I thought it was going to be a waste but at least a nice drive in the 944.
Most of the show cars were gone when I got there.... but I was still able to pick up 90% of the parts I needed for my 911 and for awesome deals... sometimes it pays to be the last person there as vendors are packing up.... especially when they don't want to pack things up.. One vendor actually gave things away because he didn't sell them. ![]() ![]() |
