Deactivating old alarm system -- need help!

Hello Pelicans,

I disconnected the battery of my new-to-me '85 911 to install the new steering wheel.

When I reconnected the battery all Hell broke loose. Four-way flashers activated, little blinking light on the console, car won't start.

Called the PO who said "oh yeah, did I mention the car had an aftermarket alarm on it? I disconnected the horns from the system but never uninstalled it, because I never disconnected the battery. Not sure how you would do that." Thanks

There is a non-Porsche relay in the trunk that says "Directed Electronics Inc." with about 5 wires spliced into the harness. Unplugging the relay does nothing to stop the flashing LED or four-ways. There is also a small button on top of the AC console but pressing it doesn't seem to do anything either.

So has anyone seen one of these systems before, or have sage advice on how to disable it either temporarily or permanently?

Thanks!!

Dallas
