2.4mfi what next?
Traded for this, pulled from a wreck , sat for 8 years that I know of. Pulled the plugs and shot some oil in there and tried to check compression. will turn over but compression seems to be less than 25lbs on the first two cylinders I checked so I did not go on. Any one have any suggestions?

I don't think you can assess the health of the engine as it sits on a pallet. The compression may be dicey until you get the thing started and the rings reseat.
So what's the goal here? And what's the budget?

From the location of the cold start lines, it's either a '72 or '73 911E...these engines were designed to run on REGULAR grade gasoline of the time..not the higher compression of the earlier years.
Good find if you didn't pay too much... ![]()

I would like to be able to assess its condition before going to the expense of sourcing all the missing components and having the MFI rebuilt. Any advice on the best way to proceed?

I'd love to have that engine! If you want to get rid of it (seriously), please let me know!

Sorry I do not wish to sell it, I am hoping to get it running and either put it in the 74 or find a roller. I do not know the best way to proceed without damage to what I have, Anyone like to offer any advice?

Why not pull the MFI and the heads and visually inspect it? I would bet that, if the cylinders look good, the crank would be good as well as long as it was stored with oil in it. Just an thought.
