Hey, I've got SC flares, so I'll throw in my two cents. I think Bob Tilton's first and last batch are the best, but you've got to get rid of "Super Carrera" in it, since hardly anyone agrees that SC stands for that (and since even SC owners don't typically refer to their cars by that name). I'd subsititute 911 SC in that space, and jump into production!

Almost makes me want to go out and buy Photoshop...but then what would I do  Your design is a bit wide...try putting the 911 SC above the crest, and WDP below. (See if you can get this done before I get hauled off to jail!) |

thanks jack. i'm trying to stay away from the p logo and play with the concept of incorporating the "world". anyway, here are a few more attempts. i welcome all feedback for direction.

The Sunday tv football games must be lousy, eh? :)
As much as I like the beautiful P-crest, Bob Tilton's design looks pretty good without it. I like the clean, bold lines. Good work, Bob. I'm sure as soon as our Leader logs-in from the front, he'll give us his take on these latest designs. In the meantime...more please! |
Why do we need the word "plot"? Do we not already dominate the world?
Clean and simple. Keep it clean and simple. I think Jack's Black Beauty would make a great mascot! |

If you pick one of those nice round designs you guys could have a nice enamel badge made for the rear grill.

Have to admit, I like Bob Tilton's "globe" designs. Ties in with the worldmeister decals Porsche used, but not so much that they could sue. And the round one could be used for decal or badge. Just don't get TOO close to the early 911S registry's globe design, okay? It's been around for quite some time, available in both badge and decal. To see that logo: http://www.early911sregistry.org/

Hmmmmm,
Paul - maybe they WANT to make it like the early S badge, it is the World Domination plot after all http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...flackwhore.gif Cam |
Cam...you're right! But you know, we need those 911SC's out there. They can be parts cars for early 911's. :)
|
What worries me is not the obvious stuff (sneaky use of glavanised bodies, long-living engine) but the subversive ("can't get proper RS flares for your RS replica? Psssttt, buddy, I can get you a set of SC flares - no-one will know the difference"). They got Jack already :(. He even seems pleased about it http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/bawling.gif
And then there is the motor thing "hey buddy, your lightweight early 911 would go so great with a smooth, reliable SC motor - how 'bout it?" Omigosh, I am falling into that trap. Must...... ensure..... new...... SC-based.... motor.... gets...... MFI..... based....EFI...... only that..... can... save me. |
bobs are very cool
i think the PORSCHE needs to be bigger...can't really tell what it is advertising... like a back border with porsche around the top 911SC at the bottom, then SCWDP the way it is... maybe the years of the SC model like the old world champion badges... I will work on mine...it can be for the website masthead...or for our news letter... I will work on mine,....haha MJ |

I am blown away from the responses!
Everyone has done some pretty cool stuff! I am impressed. My computer skills are limited to Microsoft Paint. I do like Bob Tiltons design the best. I like the one I modified and attached below. I agree about the "super carrera", I like it but can also see how some people don't think SC stands for Super Carrera. Maybe whe should just put a question mark around it? :D Anyway, I like the black and white versions and the red black and white versions. I think that this one so far best suits the cause, but we are definately still open to other ideas! This is the silliest thing I think I have ever seen grown men take so seriously ...well then again there was Oliver North... :D My only concern is with a colored sticker (other than B&W) would it possibly Clash with some peoples off colored cars? Like metallics? Just don't want it to look tacky. ..Well as tackful as a sticker can possibly be anyway. Bob's paying for it, I think it should be his decision. With written permission from me anyway... :D |
Well here's my feeble attempt. Not quite as cool as Bob's stuff, but all I have is some lame Arcsoft basic software. I was kinda going for the oval Euro country designator type badge look.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate...ds/Scwdp02.jpg Wait a minute... What the heck am I doing!?! I was lured by the dark side! I can feel the enemy getting stronger.....Must resist urge to sell Carrera and buy a 3.0.....Can't hold out much longer.... -Eric |
I am not big on stickers on my car...I even refuse to buy a parking permit for my neighborhood cuz the jokers want me to stick it on my bumper...and they do not come off...
I say t-shirts are relatively cheap to make...I guess mine would be out if we were going to sell them cuz of the copyright laws... but bob's are pretty free of any infringemnt... small stickers that go on the licence plate or in the work shop is feasible too...or "my other car is an SC" man we should take one of those Montery Historic-esque poster pictures with all of us and our SC's on the front straight and the corkscrew in the background...hahahaha Now that you've built a engine...and are contemplating a tranny I saw we make a website...SC registry... finally a use for my logo...that I made instead of studying for finals....what I do for my SC... |
I vote for 82SC's. All contributions have been great, but his is the best so far.
Send it to the printer!!!!!! |
This is what I do when I get bored in the desert.
It's microsoft paint... the onlything i know how to use. It's kinda like comparing Playstation 2s to Packman. :) yes, I'm bored. |
