You guys are really really good...
I'll buy five: four extra for my future cars. Jw |
Bob Tilton,
Like those designs including the 'Super Carrera' words and red/white/black color scheme. Btw, I asked Bruce Anderson a while back what SC stands for. His reply: SUPER CARRERA. Regards, Mark |
must keep this brief as i am at work.
thanks to everyone who have responded with comments, feedback, and clarifications. i agree, there are some excellent submissions. i think freefly's (eric) is a great piece. leland, you're the client so i will work on the one you like with the revisions and final "tuning". i have one other concept that i would like to explore but it will have to wait til i get home. keep them coming. bob '68 911L RGRUPPE member having a little fun with the SC folks :). |
This is great. . .
Cam, LOL bob tilton & 82SC have some excellent designs. My thinking was along the lines of what 82Sc did, but simpler, (subversive :D ). ..http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate...mple_badge.jpg Like 82SC, I'm not much into stickers; so I'm thinking we just reproduce the above as a rear badge. We can then swap them out when ever going to track events. The psychological effect will be tremendous as the other models quiver in confusion as they realize their inferior existence. Aside; for Leland, no one else read this. . . Leland, beware of that Jack Olsen . .he and his Black Beauty are dark evil infiltators. Do not be fooled by those SC flairs. . .it's a trick. I believe he's been hired by the R-Gruppe to infiltrate the SCWDP. Even on this thread he sneaks in subversive words like; "get rid of "Super Carrera" and "hardly any(SC owners) agree" He's trying to rip us apart, I tell you. <HR><font color="#CCC4A8" face="Arial Black"><strong>'81 SC COUPE</strong></font></p> |
I dont think SC stands for super Carrera. SC originated with the 356 cars, and indicated a slightly more powerful pushrod engine than the C or Normal engines. The Carreras were the cream of the crop all with the screamer 4-cam engines.....today worth 2-3 times the value of pushrod 356s. No Carrera 4-cams were badged with SC to my knowledge.

Hey Doug - glad to see a local BC boy is spearheading this project - do you really think we have a chance at true world domination ? I'm in for any of Bob Tilton's designs. By the way, Wayne, Every other time I try to reply to a post, I get a "Thread not Specified" message. Usually it happens when I click the reply button at the *top* of the thread. Any one else having this problem?

"do you really think we have a chance at true world domination ? " -jwetering Nope, not a chance! There is a plot afoot to change the automotive tastes of your leader. You are DOOMED, DOOMED, I say! Cackle-cackle, hee-hee.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/boxen.gif

Do we have a winner yet?

Just got home to the computer....good to see some more new designs. IMO, I like the Tilton/Pate collaboration:

I also like Bob #4. And Bob #5, they are close, but I like 5 a little better, for the same reason you wrote. |
Bob seems like he has a lock on the $50 Pelican gift certificate I'm putting up, but how about the rest of you "artistes"?
|
I'm with Leland on this one: That's the silliest thing I have ever seen grown men work on so hard.
Even the concept is futile. But the artwork is quite nice... |
Spoken like a true early 911 owner :p
|
You're absolutely correct Doug. You see, us early owners appreciate art and design perhaps more than the 'average' SC owner. To us, purity of form is on a level pegging to that of function.
Not that I'm against the SCWDP; their carefully preserved flares can be harvested by the less concientious of the early guys amoungst us and grafted to their cars when 7x15 RS Fuchs are remanufactured by the factory some time in the near future. |

Matt? By Jove! You've GOT it! Best, Paul :) I mean, I don't have the talent to create art. But I do know it when I see it...good design. |

There are a lot of good designs here, but I think Bob Tilton's are the best. Lean, direct, nothing wasted -- a lot like the 911 that Bob drives. ;)

Actually, one of the best track cars I ever ran with was a stock SC.* And Black Beauty, with its signal lights blackened out, kind of has an "SC" look to it, don't you think? (And please, pay no attention to the number assigned to the car.) ;) *backdated to the long hood and lightweight fenders of the early 911... (Evil laughter here.) |
