do it yourself
![]() leave the critical stuff that you can't figure out to an outside source. the rest you can do yourself. there's a few guys on this website that have rebuilt their own 356, 911, 914, 924, 944, and 928 engines. i can't remember who it was offhand (Leland maybe) but someone on here showed a few pics of a GORGEOUS 911 engine they did a lot of the work on. i'm pretty sure many people here would be willing to help you along if you ran into trouble. before disassembling my 924 engine, i was all apprehensive about it. now i'm HAPPY i am doing much of the work myself. it's a good education as to how these cars work. the things that you can't do (that require special tools) you can send out to one of MANY places that you can find in the back of Panorama. good luck! obin |

no problem!
the major thing you have going for you is that there's a million books, web sites, and people out there that can offer you advice for 911 engines. Bruce Anderson's name comes to mind. for my 924 engine i AM the source of rebuilding info (i.e... no help from one single source, so had to compile it). you have the advantag of being able to get the Bentley book, which has full rebuild info. here's a nice start: http://www.iprimus.ca/~ninja/shugart.htm good luck! obin |
