Can the experts help me sort this car out?
Is this a fake 930? I don't see an intercooler. Is that a 3.2L motor? Was the slant nose body a factory option in 1984? Is this a grey market car?? Any help appreciated thanks.

It's not being advertised as a 930, so I would hesitate to call it a "fake". My car has a "Carrera" script on the side, but it's not really a Carrera so the fact that he's got some turbo badging and a personalized plate saying "930" isn't the end of the world IMHO.
It appears to be a standard Carrera that just has a number of mods done to it. If you're serious about the car, I would look into the history of what's been done to it.

Frankly, that car has been molested too much to tell what it is/was/is intended to be.
No, it's not a 930. Looks like a 3.2 Widebody add-ons? Slant nose add-ons? Nice RUF wheels though. Are you looking at it to potentially purchase? For starters they're asking about $26,000 too much, even if those are legitimate low miles. The appeal of low mile cars is, for one thing, that they're usually in some semblance of a stock, untouched condition. That car's been sodomized so badly it completely negates the (purported) low miles.

Definitely not a turbo, it is a 3.2 and it is 5spd, I believe the turbos were 4 speed at that time, could be wrong though, but it is not a turbo

It is easy to see that the engine is a stock 3.2. Not a turbo. On the other hand, someone has dropped some serious money into that car.

Carrera - 3.2 =
No 505 code - so slant nose is an add on No M491 code so flares are add on Not a Euro - US Spec Clifford Alarm - can be problematic Ruf wheels are money options that came with the car: 395 Light metal wheels - forged (I'm guessing long gone) 409 Sport seats left and right leather 419 Rear luggage compartment instead of rear seats 454 Automatic speed control

Obviously owned by someone who wished that they owned a slantnose 930. They spent a load of cash to upgrade cosmetically. Turbo badges and vanity plate on a non-turbo car are just plain pathetic. I would be wary that someone like that would tend to neglect any maintenance not related to cosmetics.
It probably WAS a nice cab and I DO like the wheels. Keep lookin'. Now is a great time to buy a real 930.

This car invokes the line in the movie "Wall Street" when the stock broker in the bar says "The guy is Rambo, he's Rambo, he's got himself a Porsche Turbo Cabriolet...about 75 thou...." This car was registered in NY, NY back in the mid 80's...wonder if it was that stockbroker?
Those who can't remember that line better go watch the movie again before the sequel "Money Never Sleeps"

Nas "T" 930
![]() Remove all the "turbo" and "930" stuff, and it could still be fairly well sorted. Not too bad, all in all...at least it hasn't shown up on Playa's Hit List. ![]()
