Hi guys,
78SC ROW... I've done a good amount of Wayne's projects with PBblaster, but have run into a few that seem to require the next step "up" - heat to expand and remove the old parts... I've done smaller projects, but nothing suspension related yet. And PBblaster is not doing the job.... ![]() Asking for advice on what you guys like the best:
Thanks!

Harbor Freight sells a nice oxygen-acetylene torch kit for about $125. You then need to buy the bottles from your local AIR GAS store, about $80 bucks for each bottle, but then it's about $20 to refill later once you own the bottles. The prices are aproximate.
I have this setup and it have been wonderful to have. I recently replaced the spring mouts on my beater F150 and blasting the old rivots out was easier and took less time than trying to find bolts to replace them. You can heat or cut, just be sure you learn how to use it before you cut a hole in your chassis or something like that. |

Another opinion,....
After witnessing valve failures of a cheap oxy-acetylene torch assembly, this isn't somewhere to cut corners. I'd look for a Victor or Smiths setup if thats what you need. In many cases, a Bernzomatic torch with a Mapp gas cylinder can do a job without risking everything in the vicinity of what you are working on. ![]() ![]()

you spray & tap with a steel hammer then wait, then repeat every few hours for several days, right???
I'd also go for a MAPP gas setup for now. |
