I found this thread when searching on this very problem - my drvers door would not close fully on occasion, suddenly today it doesn't want to stay closed at all. I can see that the internal nylon piece is cracked. I got a set of triple square bits at O'Reilly (good excuse to go since they have VR1 on sale anyway) and the bolts broke free easily.

Our host carries two striker plates - aftermarket ones are less than half the price of Genu-wine at $50. I am fine with the black color, anyone have anything to say about the quality of the Hamburg Technic striker plates?

Have I mentioned that I love this board? How did we live before the Internet?
