Does anybody know where you can purchase the long european style license plates for the front of my 911. Perhaps custom where it could say Porsche??

Thanks All

I got mine on e-bay - you will find a few different kinds - the one pictured above is a newer version with the Euro symbol - the circle of stars in blue.
I found an older version for my '85 - a pre-European union tag.
I'm not sure what all the numbers in yellow mean - maybe someone in Germany can help with that and if they can tell what year it's from.

I used a gift certificate from autosport to get this one but there was an invoice in the box from whomever did the actual work. I will see if I can dig it up later.

One more, I did not have a picture of this plate but you can see it in the video. This was purchased on ebay.

Just Google custom Euro plates and you'll find a bunch of companies that do this. The best ones will also let you choose the city/state sticker you want on it - probably Stuttgart - and where to place it.

I got my legitimate CA plate number for the front of my old car because I wanted to comply with the spirit of California's front-plate law, if not the letter.

I've used these guys for years. There plates are identical to the real deal, down to the stickers.

I got this plate by buying a car in Europe. My very first brand-new car was a 1967 Saab 96, and I took delivery of it in Amsterdam. The plate says '68 because it was valid for one year. Anyway, I like the white numerals on a navy blue background - and it is the real thing.

P.S. Note half-eaten apple on roof. You need energy for an energetic ride.

That is indeed a Dutch plate, but this type (white on blue) is reserved for classic cars only. Standard Dutch plates are black lettering on a yellow background.

That's interesting. Maybe in '67 colours were different? Well, my car is a classic now! As I understand it, the "GN" denoted the city where the car was registered. But, roughly translated from the Dutch, GN stands for nowhere. This was present on the plate because I was a non-resident and the registration was temporary.

As far as I know, there are no color differences between years.
The designation 'GN' I am not familiar with.
Dutch Pelicans may chime in on that one.

I think GN was for cars whos owners were not Dutch Nationals. Maybe the holder was ex military.

I just ordered mine on eBay also. Having lived in Germany for 7+ years it will have special meaning to be on front of the 911.
