BBS wheel question

I pulled apart one of my sets of BBS RS wheels a while back to add deeper dishes. There was some kind of glue/adhesive/sealant stuff between the inner and outer dishes presumably to help make the whole thing airtight. Anyone know what kind of stuff to use for reassembly? Silicone? RTV? Some kind of weird uber-strong industrial stuff? Wurth sealant maybe?

And more importantly where can I find it?

I have used an "aluminized" silicone adhesive caulk for renewing the seal on multi-part wheels before with good results. Nothing exotic-it's sold in construction and hardware stores for bonding/sealing aluminum gutters and window/door sashes. Since the air pressure in the wheel is tending to drive the bead into the crack, it doesn't have a lot of stress on it, as long as the bolts stay tight. Just make sure the joint is clean and dry before bonding the halves and you shouldn't have any problems.

Dow Corning 832 is what we use in the industry.

+1 to ttweed's post. You should be able to find it in any hardware store. I just used the silicone marked for metal-to-metal contact.

There are two types of metal seal rings used in different years of the BBS-RS, one uses a rubber o-ring for the early ones and a "U" shaped rubber seal later. If you buy new seals from BBS you need not worry about additional sealant
