1973.5 Distributor Vacuum line?

Where does the vacuum line from the distributor connect to?

Thanks for all the help.

Cleaned up all the oil leaks and now tuning it up. I'll need some help getting thru the CIS system too.

Dave.
On my 1973.5T the vacuum line (red cloth covered) runs from the distributor along the airbox up to the top of the decel valve (bell shaped to the left and rear of the airbox. It attaches on top of the decel valve.

On the 73.5 the vacuum line serves to retard the ignition, not advance it. It does this to reduce emissions on deceleration. The motor runs more crisply without it.

There should be a vacuum port on the throttle valve near the idle speed adjustment screw.

Great, then I won't run the vacuum on the distributor.

Plug the nipple on the throttle valve?

I thought I heard air coming from somewhere when tuning/ setting the idle but only when the engine reached a certain speed. Makes sense.

Thanks again.

I can't remember if that hole is before or after the fuel and air get mixed but yes it would be good to do that.

That would be on a port below the butterfly because it requires the vacuum at idle.

I'm not sure if the retard is for emmissions or for better starting. If I advance mine the car cranks a little more before starting,
