Fuzion tires

Anyone else using the Fuzion tires on their 911?

Know of one person who has them but he just got them and they are too new for him to really give much feedback.

Thinking about trying a set so thought I would see if anyone else has them.

Thx,

Joe

I just got my car one month ago but it had Fuzion all season HRIs on the rear (new & installed 7/09) and I just got Fuzion HRIs for the front yesterday. Though I'm no tire expert, the ride is very smooth now with no pulls or shaking at all up to 90+ on highway. Sharp cornering at lower speeds also feels very controlled to me. Some complain about tire noise I guess (at Tirerack at least).

I did a lot of research on Tirerack and Fuzions were fairly highly rated from customers and the Tirerack controlled testing. I wasn't sure if they were a good tire so I did some research before I went all in on the full set. Based on a few hours of mixed driving, I really like them. They are pretty moderately priced too.

Just my two cents...

Joe,
Same here. New set as you know. Ride is surprisingly smooth. No issues with cornering at all. Feel like I'm really stuck to the road. Yes, I went from 225 to 245 rear with no problem. Stayed with 205/55 front after being talked out of 205/50. TR guy said I may have oversteer probs. Happy with the tires and TR. Arrived to my home in one day.

I run Fuzions on my 525i, and am completely satisfied. I think that they are made by Bridgestone, so how bad can they be?

Happy with them though I sometimes feel the rear might swing on me. Maybe because I got used to 17's.

I put a set of ZRi's on my 78 911SC as throw aways when I first got the 911. It needed new tires immediately, and I had no idea about the alignment on the 911. The ZRi's were low priced at the time, so I figured if they scrubbed off in 2,000 miles, I wouldn't be upset. I've put about 10,000 miles on them, and I'm very happy with them. I would buy another set if I don't find a better price/performance tire value when it comes time to buy again. Turns out my 911's alignment is great. Tires are wearing well. I'll definitely get 15,000 miles on the rears and probably closer to 20,000 before they're done. Mix of highway and city with many agressively driven miles on back country tours as well.

I have the Fuzion ZRi 205 in front, and 245 in rear. I bought them because my friend Jeff likes his. I agree, they are very sticky, very good tires for the money. I'd still rather pay more for Bridgestone S-03s, but that ain't gonna happen because those are NLA.

I'm glad to see this. I need a new set of tires. Due to my size requirements...205 and 245 the only ones that are available on Tirerack are the ZRi's. They are a good price too...under $ 400 for a set right now.

Joe - I'm running the ZRi's as well. They were on the car when I got it, and I plan to replace with the same. I've been very happy w/ the tires. They've even performed well in the rain. The only "negative" that I can find is that they tend to flat spot in the cold (mid 40's and below), but that shouldn't be a problem for you in AZ. Plus, I'm usually flat spot free after 5 minutes of driving.

I had some on my Corrado and same as some above have stated...I thought they were just a cheapy replacement to get by for a while...ended up putting lots of miles with no complaints . I was very surprised considering the price.

I had them as well on my Cups. One thing I think was missed is that they have a rim protector that some would say makes them look "funny".

The Fuzions were great in the rain and dry but SUCK when temps get below 40 degrees or you find yourself on light snow.

I 've since gone to factory style wheels with Sumitomo HTRz in 205/245.

My 944 has some ZRis on it. They are a perfectly acceptable tire. I lean towards DE/AX use and ultimately they are a bit lacking in extreme grip, but for their price and general street use, they work well. And yes, they are made by Bridgestone.

I put ZRis on about 3 yrs ago because they were highly rated for their price, and I felt w/ the amount of driving I'm doing these days, they would probably have to be replaced due to age (say @ 6 yrs) rather than mileage. So far so good, and it looks like I may have been right re the age/mileage thing. I like 'em.

Ordered them yesterday, should be here tomorrow.

Cannot wait! Like Mark, mine are well over 10 years old and way past replacement time.

I've had mine for about 18 months now (83 SC), overall I am very impressed for a cheap tyre, they are noisy (!) when you are testing their ultimate grip !

but I like the fact that when they do let go they are still predictable and allow you to steer the car on the throttle without drama or sudden movement.

rain performance is pretty good too.
