gauge bulb socket replacement

Hello,
After a melt down of my wiring for the dashboard lights I decided to put in the dashlight fuse instalation as described in Dash lighting fuse installation

I want to replace all the dashboard light wiring from scratch but have not found out how I can re-use the "bulb sockets (99906320007000)". The wire goes inside but I can not figute out how to get it out and replace it with a new wire.
Thanks for your assistance!

Hey Bruno,

Why not just strip the casing and solder onto the existing wires then use shrink tubing to seal it up? That way you don't have to worry about opening and potentially damaging the sockets.

Thanks for teh feedback. Sounds like a good alternative. I just wonder how they would do this in a porsche garage, there must be a trick?

They would most likely replace a portion of the wire harness and charge an arm and a leg...
