Rust in side sill heater duct.
Hi all
just noticed a small rust bubble coming up under the paint on the drivers side lower sill. at the rear end where there is a welded seem. so out with the dremall and the hole got bigger and bigger. about 2" x 3/4" not that big. so treated with rust killer ( i will do it properly over next winter ). I notist some dry dirt in there. I was thinking of sticking the power washer up through the flapper valve and see if I can remove any more dirt ? I'll raise the front of the car to let the gunk out... can this be done ? Thanks for any help. Steve |

I wouldn't spray water into any hollow cavities on the car. Long wire brush and a shot of air from a compressor to clean it out.
What year car. The early cars don't get much in terms of rust protection on the inside of the hollow cavities. They generally rust from the inside out.

Sorry it is on a 1985 3.2, A brush kinda makes better sense. then use some kinda
of rust stopper, like fish oil, or there is a rust protection wax that is sprayed into cavorts but I'm thinking the heat may melt it out? Thanks Steve. |
