Yellow 911. Hello from Jakarta (many pics)

Hello guys!

Just want to say hi to everyone here and introduce my self. My name is Oemar from Jakarta Indonesia. Here are some pictures of my car, 1987 3.2 G50. I just got it. My previous Porsche was 944 back in 1988 in US. So after 23 years I'm back in a Porsche again. Yuhuuuu

BTW, how do I tell if my fuchs are original without taking it off?

Nice car!! too bad about those awful mirrors.
They don't belong on that car at all IMO.
But welcome nonetheless!!

Fuchs look to be the real deal, but if you want to be sure, take them off, it is not that much work...

Welcome - enjoy your new ride. Nice garage as well - those doors are cool. What are the marks on the back lid next to the carrera? Did it have a tail at one point?

Easiest wasy to tell if Fuchs are real is to take them off to look for the fox. Otherwise, post a close-up photo of the wheels.

Yeah, those garage doors are really cool....just imagine of you had two tracks of doors on a side wall spaced out 2'. You could then just do regular shelves, and do the doors in front, just like a closet. I bet that would be cheaper (and more functional) than cabinets....

oh, and nice car, I hope the AC works, but you are probably used to the heat.

Nice car! Boy the architecture in the background of those pics looks very familiar. From 1986 - 1990 I spent 2 months of the year in equatorial Jakarta. Nice place, but I like Bandung temperature better! You can drive as fast as you like on that highway that goes out there into the mountains. It's quite a nice drive...

congrats on a great car. I've spent a lot of time in Indonesia and Jakarta, unfortunately the traffic in Jakarta will not let you stretch her legs much. Anyway you'll stand out in the crowds as I have seen very few Porche's in Jakarta.
Nikmati teman saya.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments, here are some more pictures from today

What are the marks on the back lid next to the carrera? Did it have a tail at one point?
Those are mounting holes the wing, are they supposed to be like that?

Otherwise, post a close-up photo of the wheels.

About the garage doors, these are very common here. I prefer automatic garage doors like the ones in US that open up to the ceiling, so you can use the space on the side walls.

Jakarta is getting tougher to live in now as the population has grown to >20+ million people, almost the size of population of entire Australia. So traffic & polution is everywhere. Bandung is also no better, the traffic is just as bad, however the temperature is cooler there. You can check Jakarta's traffic cameras here:

Your Fuchs seem to be the real deal (assessment on sight only).
You have 16X6 in the front and 16X7 in the rear, in good condition.
You can go as wide as 16X7 in the front (or 8 if you can find a pair of 944 offset Fuchs, 16X8 with the 911 offset will not fit in the front)) and 16X9 in the back. 16X9 tend to be a bit more expensive, 16X8 (911 offset) is cheaper.

The holes in your decklid are mounting holes from a spoiler that has been removed.
It's best to either close the holes and repaint or install a whaletail to cover up the holes and prevent rust getting a chance to form. My guess is the holes were drilled after painting so there will be some exposed metal there...

Thanks.. Jakarta is not the city for car guys as the traffic is so bad and the roads have potholes everywhere. You have to be extremely patient to drive here cause the motorists have no respect for others & traffic rules.

Over here, every one has driver license but no one ever took a written or driving test, of course this is not official

And what is up with those mirrors man, driver's side is way up and the one on the passenger's side looks like it is going to fall off...???

EDIT: I just noticed your steeringwheel is at the wrong side so it's the other way 'round...)

Merci beaucoup Monsieur Geronimo..
Can I raise my rear? It sits lower than the front, also my muffler scrapes the ground whenever I pull in to my garage since my ramp is rather steep.

Is this real / replica fuchs?

PO must have installed 964/993 style mirrors from LHD cars. I'm trying to source RHD flag mirrors but not easy to find for RHD.

We need closer photos of the wheels. The yellow ones look real. What we are looking for is the "roundness" of the spokes near the center and round corners of the cutouts between the petals. The real test is to take off the wheel and look in the back of the spokes for the little (stylized) Fox head logo. (Fuchs is German for Fox)

Salam Jorijori dari Brunei.
Tumpang Tanya boleh k.
What sort of temps does your oil reach whilst in traffic with aircon on. As I know how hot cengkereng can get, I like too compare.
Btw, I'm due to come down there soon.
