911S is just about complete after 2 years! Pics inside
After about 2 years, my 74 911S is pretty close to done. The car was one of those, couple glasses of wine and ebay purchase
Car was rougher than described by the person selling but the most important part advertised was accurate. It was a very solid 2 owner car with no real rust. It was purchased at Neilo in Sacramento and stayed here its whole life. Sure some little surface stuff here and there, but no areas needing any real work. Very solid platform to start from.I stripped the fenders, lights, windows, interior, trim etc. Paint was stripped and repainted in the beautiful original Salmon Metalic. ![]() ![]() Interior was gutted, dash redone, seats in beautiful leather. New Sliver knit carpet. ![]() ![]() ![]() Its lowered it in front as far as it will go up front without clocking the torsion bars. I want to go a bit lower, especially out back. Still a few things left to do but it can be driven now... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More images here: http://gtmbuild.com/galleries/74_911S_done/ Let me know what you think! Great color combo, looks like a '74 S? If so I think it's one of the more under appreciated models and a good one is hard to come by, nice car!

Absolutely beautiful David, well done! I bought a car like that on eBay, a 71, all pics were the most flattering possible. I asked about rust on the rear longitudinals, his reply was you don't need to worry about rust there. He was right, the longitudinals were gone...no rust, no metal. Ended up parting it out, cutting it up. Glad to see you brought yours back to life.
Returned your PM.

David, I would go with 205/55 Yokohama S Drives on your Fuchs or 7x15 cookies all around. approximately 24 in the rear, 24.75 in the front.

+1 on who did the dashboard. Was it recovered? Also, where did you source the upholstery for the seats? Great looking car!

What do you guys think would be a good tire size and ride height for the car?
David[/QUOTE] It depends if you want your speedometer accurate and RPMs reasonable. 185/70x15 stock, 195/65 very close, a bit wider and shorter, 205/60 a little more aggressive and some brands can look chubby on a 6" rim. I like and have used all three. Your ride height will be dependant on your tire selection but a ballpark of 25 1/2" front and 25" rear is a good starting point and a corner balance will determine your final numbers. David |

Dash was Recover by VIP European Upholstery, Tempe AZ 928-486-8129. Cost was about $400. Great guys as well. I posted on it about 4 months back. I was so bummed that companies wanted $800+ to do a dash that when I found these guys I wanted to share. Had My Dash Recovered, What Do You Think?? Dash is covered by a material that is very close to the original. I don’t notice much if any difference. It’s a high grade vinyl and no stitched seam. I dont have all my links on the current computer Im working on. I'll dig up the company I bought the covers from. Very thick, high quality leather. David |

Nice job! I followed your Factory Five builds, too. Didn't realize you were over here, as well.
How about a picture of the GTM? ![]() Doug
