Question Permatune 6 pin Cd box

What Do you Think about permatune 6 pin cd box to install in porsche 3.0 911 RSR instead of bosch 6 pin cd box

The Permatune quality has always been in question. If its all I had I would run it but good 6 pin Bosch are available used on this list and I would far prefer Bosch quality to Permatune.

There are three, six and eight pin Bosch units. They are year and model specific. 8 pins are rare.

They don't call them Permacrap for nothing....

Rebuilds are around $500USD.....with no core.

The original Bosch coils are best. Bosch CDI are best. MSD second best.

you should get the 101 projects for your 911 book sold by Pelican; it tells you all the parts and instuctions to install the MSD. I can't remember which model off top of my head.

If you want information on the RSR like you have, you might want to read this book instead: Pelican Parts.com - Porsche 911 Performance Handbook

Or this one: Pelican Parts.com - How to Rebuild and Modify your Porsche 911 Engine

Please save your money and do NOT buy a permatune. Even while mine bench tests as "normal" it will stop operating at incovenient times and is a suspected culprit in the death of coils. I use an MSD and would prefer to have a Bosch.
