one of our own is very ill
Friends, a Very popular Porsche enthusiast is sick. After complaining of headaches, they found a mass behind his ear. They did the surgery last week, as of today, he is smiling and feels almost his usual self. Hopefully, he will be relaesed in the next few days and go home.
Link to the thread on S Registry http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36464 To help with the bills, we have organized a Benefit Brunch. For those who live in So Cal, please try to attend. Thank You Roger Grago Benefit Brunch -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the flyer Paul Kramer made: Hope to see you there! Roger Grago Benefit Brunch Roger Grago is a much loved fellow Porsche/VW enthusiast here in Orange County. Many of you many know him from his involvement in R Gruppe; working at Newport Porsche dealer as a service writer, or simply as a regular fixture at Cars and Coffee. Unfortunately, Roger underwent brain surgery on September 2nd at Saddleback Hospital and is in very serious condition. We are all very worried about him as is his wife and three children. These are tough times for everyone and particularly tough on his family. We have decided to organize a special brunch to help raise money for his family. The details are: Where: AutoKennel 1974 Charle Street Costa Mesa, CA 92627 When: Saturday, September 11th, 2010 From 9:30am to 12:30pm What: We will be providing a brunch and are asking for a $50 donation. Cash or Check is fine. There will be an organized caravan leaving from Cars and Coffee at 9:00am that morning and heading to the AutoKennel. You are more than welcome to join along to show support. RSVP: We would like to get a head count for food, but it is not mandatory. Please rsvp to Paul Kramer at 714-335-4911 or paul@autokennel.com There will be details on our website as well as a map: http://www.AutoKennel.com If you can not attend but would still like to make a donation, please contact Paul Kramer. Please feel free to invite any and all car enthusiasts whether they know Roger or not. We need to circle the wagons around a fellow automotive enthusiast who has given much of his time and energy to our community. __________________ Ray

We'll pray for him.

Roger is an extraordinary guy. I hope Pelicanites who have met him (as well as those who haven't) will consider attending this brunch.

Ray - Living in North Carolina makes it difficult to attend your brunch and I would like to make a donation. Post a pay to and address so that I and maybe some others can send a money order or check.

Roger has fallen victim to something many of us can relate to....the economy. In his struggle to provide for his family, Roger has moved from one job to another in an industry (automotive) that has been hit hard. In the process, he has been applying for new insurance with his new employer and unfortunately, the timing could not be worse. Roger is in a situation that many of us know could happen to anyone: Huge medical crisis happens and no health insurance. This is a plight that has affected many Americans and people close to us.
Yes, we need as much financial assistance as we can get. However, we need more than just that. Our car community that knows Roger is very fortunate. We are all very smart and successful in whatever we do that allows us to afford this passion we share. We need to tap our resources to figure out how to make one of our own protected. If Roger knows that his family will be ok, he will be able to focus on beating this thing. In the end, his family and us need him to be around for a long, long time. Please be creative in your help The family is working with their Church that are very involved in. The Church is now accepting donations on their behalf. This works out better for everyone. Your contribution is now tax deductible, ( GIVE MORE) and the family will not get taxed with the contributions Please make checks out to "Calvary Church" memo Roger Grago the mailing address is the Church they are members of: C/O Suzette Rydzeski Calvary Chapel Foothill Ranch 26882 Vista Terrace Lake Forest, CA 92630 I hope to see alot of us at Cars and Coffee AND Brunch We have t shirts available for sale at the brunch. They will be for sale on line shortly...info to follow, price and shipping prices ![]()

The brunch sounds like a great time, but due to a little geographic challenge, I'll have to attend in spirit only, but a check is on the way.
