Oil Drain Valve from our host, anyone using?
Anyone using one of these?
Pelican Parts - Product Information: PEL-PP903144 I bought one a while ago, but haven't installed it yet. I wonder about the rate that it lets the tank drain at, and the fact that the shank extends farther into the tank than the stock plug, allowing a potential buildup of undrained oil at every oil change. Any thoughts or experience that you can relate?

I use one on my F250 PSD tow vehicle.... its pretty handy.
Can't use on my 911 as it has a custom oil system with AN fittings on the tank and cooler etc..

Fumoto valves. Very high quality. Locking lever ( up-and-over ledge before you can move lever). Sure...maybe a bit slower, but no new washers everytime you change oil and you can easily remove a "smidge" of oil if you somewhat overfilled.
I have a 22 mm on the oil tank and a 20 mm on my side-port drain on the engine case itself ( 3.2 L Carrera). Drain location on engine block won't work with SC's 3.0engines as that would point down and be too low, exposed and hanging down too low to the road. Let's not get too anal about what amount is left behind...on our 13 quart systems, the change-out volume is 10 quarts....3 whole quarts are left behind. ![]()

Yep, have 2 of them, one on the SC and another on the Carrera. Best thing about them is that you no longer have the gusher of oil and don't have to fish out the hot drain plug. They work perfect, with no leaking.

Although it comes with a fiber type washer. I used OEM Porsche aluminum or copper washers for the Fumoto valves.

There is even one with a little barbed spigot on it so you can attach a hose. No mess. Watch the ground clearance however, and you may need an adapter on certain cases where the plug is recessed.
