Any special trick to coaxing the window back into its track?

My drivers' window in my '84 Carrera came out of its track. Have door panel off and can't seem to get the window to fit snug into the track. Is there a trick to it?

Just happened to me on my '83 SC Targa for the first time today. Mine luckily fell back into line with a little wiggle and recycle up and back down. Too late for that it sounds like.

Loosen the bolts on the tracks, put window back in and tighten it up. Look for loose bolts and worn parts.

Had the same problem with my 79, but the wheels that ride in the track would not stay in.
The plastic wheels were worn down so I ended up making new wheels for it.
I don't think there available unless you buy the whole assembly.
