What does the diagnosis plug do? Just tell you what's wrong with it, or can you alter the values on page 40-005 with some kind of software through there?

There's a special tool for that, see the thread on that here: New 959 Project - Replacing the Suspension Accumulators...

Nope, it's just used for troubleshooting. I missed posting some pages here, I will add them (the scanner only got the even sided pages, not the other side).

Wayne, I noticed a photo of an early 959 that had a filler flap type door on the driver side of the front compartment AND a fuel door. What was that door for? Is there a hydraulic tank there? (Near the 911 equivalent brake fluid reservoir)

It's a pretty cool system - the first of it's kind for 1987 when it was deployed on the 959. With this car, the accumulators were shot, so the thing was bouncing around way too much to even tell if it was working. I figured that my traditional shocks (shown here) got bounced around so much, that they would probably be shot. PN 959-343-511-03 is the front adjustable shock, Porsche retails this for $1771. PN 959-333-511-03 is the rear adjustable shock, Porsche retails this one for $1066. I need a total of four, so the set is $5500 retail. I buy the parts at my cost from Porsche, so it's less than those numbers, but it's still expensive. Still, I'm happy that they are still available, and they are about as expensive as the Carrera GT shocks ($1964 for the rear, $730 for the fronts).

The fuel door is in the front hood. The oil door is on the passenger side, just like on the 1972 911s. The door on the driver's side is a filler access for hydraulic fluid for the self-leveling system. I'll have some pics of that later on when we fill and bleed the system.

PASM in 1987. Cool. Kind of like how Porsche were ahead of the curve with their Porsche-DoppelkopplungsGetriebe on the 962C.

So Wayne, will we have to wait another year for a progress report?
