Bump steer spacers

Would anyone like to give me the dimensions of the rack spacers please.
I.D---O.D.---& thickness
Easier for me to machine a couple up, rather than import them.

Lots of people just use stacked washers. The amount of thickness needed varies by how much you lower the car and assumes you have not raised the spindles. I think the 'standard' spacer kit is around 14mm. The inside diameter is just the major diameter of the bolts/screws holding the rack onto the chassis/crossmember. The outside diameter should just be big enough to distribute bending moments so just make use of all the sheet metal area you can touch without hitting anything else on the side.

I see that the Weltmiester installation instructions use a 10 m.m longer bolt,so I guess it would be logical to assume spacer is 10 m.m think. iI suppose it will all become clear when I get in there!

yes just use washers. But, you get what you pay for. These kits/washers really do not 'fix' the bump steer problem like rasing the tie rods (spindals) do. But it's cheap.

The objective is just to get the tie-rods to be more parallel to the A-arms to minimize bump-steer. The washers do accomplish this. If you do not have raised spindles, the outer tie rod end spacers will over-compensate for bump steer on a lowered car and your handling will be worse. These are only for cars with raised spindles.

Raised spindles are a better way to lower the car since, with the outer tie rod end spacers, both the A-arm and tie rod are in the more favorable parts of their camber/toe curves with respect to suspension travel.

I machined up a bunch of them using the weltmeister kit as a spec. Aluminum 6061-T4 rod from Boeing.....

PM me if you want a pair for cheap, you provide the Metric fasteners.

they make a world of difference, I was running 8" wide rims on the front of my SC, and I used to flinch and brace myself for any pot holes coming my way before the bumpsteer spacers were installed.

go for my bushings, I sure wouldn't use stacked washers!
