Need Help

Tomorrow is the big day 5 months of body work and the painter looks at me today and asks for a color code. My mind just shut down thinking of all the photos of the cars here on pelican. So i have about 12 hours to make up my mind. I'm going white, but which one? Help me guys please.....

In five months you didn't decide on a color?

The car started its life as a 1978 targa SC and i was going to bring it back to its original glory but since it was converted to a slant nose in 1987 i decided to restore it as a 1987 slant nose. The interior is now period correct and will be red when finished. The wheels will be new rota fox 17 in black and satin ( They came in two weeks ago and I'm in love) The motor for now is the original 3.0 but i do have a 3.6 in the shop.

White doesn't show off the awesome curves of the body. Don't be afraid of the dark. Go black.

My car is GP White. The curves get washed out in bright sunlight. Not such a big issue on a slant nose without the curvy fenders. Silver, Metallic Blue, Metallic Green all bring out the best of the round contours.

Saw a cab in the Orlando area, about 10 years ago. I believe with a repaint, but high quality. License plate said "Pearl" a softer white than GP white. Had pearl flakes in the paint, looked like it was glowing, the color was so deep. Porsche color? Don't know, but looked good!

Thanks you guys, This is exactly the input i was seeking. Was thinking of an exotic color something to make my car look its best. But after all that pondering i decided to go with a standard Porsche GP White L908.

I bought this car earlier this year off of ebay. wow what a good deal i thought low miles, steel conversion, old style vega wheel deep dish and targa. Boy was i ever wrong. 11,000 was just a drop in the bucket compared to what this car cost to restore. And the thing that makes me so crazy is the fact that i have a body shop, tow trucks and mechanics in-house. I have a new respect for the guys who rebuild old pcars.

Look forward to seeing some pics. What was your final color choice? I'm sure you know that the devil is in the details and it sounds like you're sure on the right track.

Too late, I win! White is a great color to hide small dents and dings and is easly matched. And it does show off the curve when polished.
