I tried a new wax----WOW!

I recently purchase a jar of Pinnacle XMT 180 which claims to be 100% carnuba and no bees wax. Well I do have to say, a little pricey but it went on easy came off easy with zero white residue. The car looks like it is wet all the time. The feed back from family and friends who see my car often had said what did you do to your car?? It should be known I have always used Zymol and in the past P21s, Mothers and just about everything we all have tried. Its only on a week, I will see its durability and let you know.

Will it beat this?

Does the new wax beat this? I use Rejex for the final coat.

No wax is 100% Carnauba, as Carnauba having a relative
density of .97 in it's pure form is very hard and brittle.

The use of pure Carnauba would damage the paint.

As you mentioned, most car waxes which use Carnauba
also contains a softening product such as Beeswax.

By the way, I use McGuire Wax.

Cheers,

Gerry

Well, this is opportune... I had some old Turtle Wax Black Box that was given to me at the end of some car show, that I had hiding in the back of the car care cupboard... So after the mountain jaunt yesterday I decided I really should do something for the old guy...

I figured - why not - it isn't like this is going to be the 'show car' - and if I didn't like it (Turtle Wax products seem a little questionable to me most of the time), he could probably use an afternoon with a clay bar at some point anyway.

His original paint wasn't taken care of all that well, so not too bad...

And a great shot of a $1500 savings - the previous owner ran over a paint can lid on his 'farewell' drive - I whimpered... and told him it was going to cause me to walk - that it just was going to be so much work...

I've experimented with many products over the years and have found Adam's 'Americana Premium Paste Wax' hard to beat.
Just my 0.02c worth.

86 911 Targa - Have airfare - will travel...

I think I will finish it with Collinite 845 - it needs to be a little 'harder' -

Harder is better

Driwash by Envirotech (finishing up my 10 year supply). Takes 20 minutes with 2 cotton terry's.

Good timing, I can't seem to get rid of what look like water stains in my guards red paint. Tried 3M rubbing compound and not effective for any length of time. Waxes get rid of some of it briefly...any suggestions?

An orbital and some light polish with the right pad will take those water stains right out. Start with the lightest polish first of course.

Lenny,
Yep, mine's a repaint, but the paint job is really bad and the Klasse/Claybar/Rejex really made it pop. Post some pics!
