1967 2.0 Aluminum Case markings

Can someone tell me what the casted 10 dots circled around the #66 means on the pully end of this case .....'67 2.o Aluminum. And also, someone asked me for a number 911/06 and 7400 number. Where do I find that please. Pictures would be good to see where. Thanks. R.

The 10 dots and '66' indicate 10th month of 1966.

Add your information and question here:
Type 901/xx Engine Build #'s - Early 911S Registry Bulletin Board

Your numbers fit right in.

The reasion this only appears confused is Porsche built the 'normal' 911 (901/06) and the 911S (901/02) engines at the same time.

Best,
Grady

Grady previously posted this picture:
For the 1965 through 1969 2.0 motors there is the build # next to the type #. The build # is a sequential serial number from the engine shop that is model independent beginning at 1 for engine 900101 and running up to about 27000 at the end of the 1969 model year when it was discontinued.
On the aluminum cases the serial number faces towards the pulley end, and on the magnesium case is faces towards the right side.
On the 914/6 cases the serial and type numbers are near the thermostat.
On the aluminum cases the date codes are on the pulley end, and on the magnesium case they are near the 901.101xxxx casting numbers.

I'll add your info in my thread that Grady pointed to. See if you can get the pairing numbers please.
