Anyone have a solution for replacing the middle alignment pin on my 81 targa top?

Hey everyone. The subject pretty much says it.

When my father originally got the car, it didn't have the middle pin that fit in to the inside cente of the targa bar.

The top squeaks a little, and rattles SLIGHTLY, but not too much.

I tried looking to see if pelican has the part available as a replacement, but it doesn't seem like it is.

Has anyone come up with a solution? I'd just like to have that middle rear of the top held down more securely against the seal. I don't think it is a giant contributor to unwanted sound, but I think anything will help.

Anyway, especially with the rainy season coming up in a few months, I'd like to have it sealed up as much as possible.

Thank inadvance.

Michael

Squeaks probably coming from some other issue.

P only added the center pin in the late 70's, I think.

If you can find a junk top, maybe you can purloin one.

They added the center pin in, I believe '75, and it continued on till the end of the targa I believe. I know that my '81 should have one.

Yah, now to find a junk top.. Heh

and I know that the majority of the squeaks are coming from the rear passenger corner. I can't tell if I need to tighten/adjust the rear aligning pins to be tighter or not, but in the end I kind of figure that Porsche put it there for a reason, and that area is buggin me, so why not fix it?

The Targa top for my car is complete and in pretty good shape, but it still squeaked like a bag of squirrels. Following a tip I found here on this board, I gave the pins, and their respective holes, each a good shot of silicone. It's now silent.
