The list grows...

Reasons to remove my '88 Carrera's stearing wheel...

1. Restitch the leather.
2. Repair the turn/headlight switch "flash to pass".
3. Install (blue..??) LED instrument illumination bulbs.

And now today's Pelican forum discovery...

4. Reverse the wiper park position.
5. Check/replace the stearing column bushing.

Thanks guys.

#4 is a great one. How about a 930S OEM wheel? No, mine is not for sale...

Don't forget to rotate your RPM guage so that redline is at 12 o'clock. It really does make it easier to watch your redline while keeping your eyes on the road.

Steering column bushing original? Good time to replace it.

I asked a professional about restiching my steering wheel. I about choked when he quoted $300 to $350 bucks. I can buy a replacement wheel for less.

That price was the qoute to re-string my old leather cover back onto my same steering wheel. I want to keep the OEM color matching leather. His charge was just for the labor and a little thread.

I decided to pass.

As you pull the horn pad off / push it back on again the horn bushings often crack (the plastic gets brittle w/age). Might want to consider getting a spare or two; part number is 321-419-779-A-OEM.

Thanks, good thought, replaced the one in the '78 about a year ago.
