Question concerning installing 77 2.7 engine into 1978 911

Putting a complete 1977 2.7 engine into a 1978 911. What problems will I have to solve? I know the 6 pin cd unit will have to be changed to a 3 pin unit. Will there be any other ignition, fuel hose/ fuel system problems or wiring harness issues as well. Thanks Bill

I don't have any technical help for you but I would swap my 3 pin for your 6 pin. I am installing a 78 3.0 into my 73. Bump for an answer from someone more knowledgeable.

Youre going to have to jury rig a couple wires to give you power to the 3 pin CD and to get the tach wire jumped into the harness.
Every thing else is bolt in including the fuel lines. you should use the 3.0 boot across the air flow sensor to throttle body, it will keep oil fumes off everything.

Bruce. Will I have to change the tach as well to an earlier unit or can I use the one on the 78 body?
