Handbrake Button Missing

Hello -

I just bought a 2001 Porsche 911 a few days ago with a missing handbrake push button - is this possible to replace easily? The repair shop that I sent the car to said they needed $450 to replace the entire unit.

I searched through Pelican a little and only saw handbrake buttons for much older cars - does this matter?

Thanks a lot.

It shouldn´t be hard. If you find a button and look at this diagramm you should be able to do it yourself

@twistoffat, that diagram looks like an earlier model.

@skllzdatklls, if it happens to be the same as a boxster, many of us may have them from stripping boxsters for racing. Where are you located?

In any case, If you are going to do it yourself, it would probably be easier to find the whole assembly at a dismantler, and change the whole thing.

you're on the wrong forum for a 2001 MY - you need the 996/997 forum
