mirror control upgrade?

[I got the look]

I am in the process of refurbishing a 1984 Turbo look 911 interior.
The current mirror control looks like this



The used interior I purchased has a switch that looks like this



Now according to my manual my mirrors are 1986 or newer because they have only one motor, they work fine with the current controls, but the new drivers side door cap has the new control built in and it looks real nice. In addition to that it moves the mirror selector from under the gauges to joy stick control for the mirror on the door. I have already pulled 3 new wires through the door in anicipation of moving the mirror selector . If anyone has completed this project or knows that the two switching styles are not convertable please let me know.
