Porsche Crest Anyone participated in Tech Knowledge Contests?

The knowledge of you members never ceases to amaze me. I've learned quite a bit in a few months work but no where near your expertise. I was curious if anyone here has participated in either local or national Porsche technical contests?

How did you do and what question (if any) ate your lunch?

Never participated. All I had to do was read the names of the Parade tech quiz winners to know I'd be wasting my time. How can I put it? Uh, want to step in the ring with Mike Tyson? No? How about taking on John Walker, or Warren, or Roland in P car techincal know-how? Same difference.

Wow, I guess I should have realized how competitive it would be but I've never even seen the type of questions they ask.

With respect to Tyson, give me a new turbo, $5M and a strong set of ear muffs and I'd go a round with him.

Hello

Last year I made one Rennlist contest and skiped all the questions only known to americans ( wich female american book outhor drives a 911 ?, What car was on wich fest ?, Who was the sponsor from wich event ? ). Made 3rd and jen said i should know who I´m

( I made a nice pun on her name and a little poem )

Since then i stoped that, i don´t need golf clubs or101 books.
I leave that to people who have to work hard for that.

Some of those tests are really rediculous, and people (like me) don't take them because I don't really waste my time memorizing little details I can easily look up at a later date.

Reminds me of some people I knew in high school who had every sports statistic memorized. They thought they were cool. I thought otherwise.

On the other hand, our very own Dave Darling won the top spot overall at the Porsche Parade Quiz last year in Sacramento!
