where can I find this hose...... What is it called
Getting ready to lift the engine back into place and I was hooking up the hose that runs from the pictured vent
![]() to the oil tank. I believe it is called the "S" hose. I noticed that it is cracked at one end. Does this hose see pressure. I would like to get one before the weekend as I would like to get the engine into place and would imagine it would really tough if not impossible to install the hose with the engine in the car. Can I use any type of tubing or does it need to be high heat ect. Thanks

Osidak,
That is a breather hose. Order it from Pelican. The 'S' hose, as I know it, runs from the bottom of the oil tank to the cooler (under the right underside of the engine.). Good luck.

I thought it was called the "breather hose" also. The one that the parts book calls the "breather hose" shows a metal fitting on one end. 77 thru 89. ???? Don't remember that where it is. Might loop back into the intake ???
The two that go to the tank on the 3.2. Are both called "connecting hoses". The one that goes to the "breather cover'', ![]() If you can't find it online, call CS. They'll get it for you. Page 10 in the Parts & Technical Catalog Good Luck...........

You are correct guys, I saw S hose and hell the thing is shaped like an S.
I buy 90% of my parts through Pelican but I was hoping to buy local so I could get the engine back in the car this weekend. I would imagine any hose that can with stand oil should be ok. Am I wrong to think this?

Does this hose see pressure?
YES but very low pressure, at high revs if you motor oil is topped up to the correct level, oil will flow through this hose back into the oil tank. In car with the relocated oil tank (front) hose needs to be sufficiently large to carry the oil flow from the back to the front. I know you are not relocating the tank, but I did and did all te research for it by talking to Gerry Woods Enterprises. Can I use any type of tubing or does it need to be high heat ect" I would choose a high heat hose if you can find one, I used a blue silicone based one and it seems to be working well. I included the best picture I have of the hose I used, the one you see is running off the oil tank and goes to a separate breather tank to catch excess oil, but it should give you an idea. Jim |
